Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has been ordered to pay a whopping Sh100 million for trespassing.Kabogo will pay the amount to city billionaire Nayel Patel with whom they have a tussle over a piece of land.On a ruling made on Friday, Justice Elijah Obaga said Kabogo is a man capable of paying the amount and will not suffer any loss in paying the damages. This is despite Kabogo having launched an appeal at the court of appeal.“As has been said now and again that the demonstration of substantial loss is the cornerstone of stay and having found that the applicant will not suffer substantial loss, I find the applicant’s application lacks merit. The same is hereby dismissed with costs to the respondent,” the ruling read.Obaga observed that there is no issue Kabogo paying the amount because even if he wins his appeal, Patel is a moneyed businessman and would be able to pay back the money if asked by the court

The two have been fighting over a Sh3.5 billion piece of land in Nairobi.
