Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu has alleged that Kiambu Governor William Kabogo is planning to sponsor candidates for the Kiambu gubernatorial contest.
This is allegedly in areas where Waititu is popular so the ‘spoilers’ can eat into his votes during next year's general election.
Waititu claims that Kabogo has been holding meetings in his strongholds to identify individuals he will sponsor against him to neutralise his popularity.
"I have reports that Kabogo is moving around the county looking for compromise candidates to sponsor so as to eat into my votes," said Waititu.
The Kabete legislator also added that Kabogo has been awarding tenders to these individuals and promising them executive positions if re-elected.
"He is promising to nominate them to county executive positions and he has been bribing them by awarding tenders and other county jobs,” he added.
Waititu and Kabogo have traded accusations in the recent past, some ending in courts.
