Kiambu County Governor William Kabogo has vowed to sue the national assembly’s leader of majority Aden Duale for allegedly accusing him of misappropriation of public funds.
Speaking in Kiambu on Wednesday, Kabogo described Duale’s comments as an insult to him and as showing a lack of respect for Kenyan women and mothers.
“Let us stop politics of hatred and foul language. After giving his statement, he called me to apologise that it was just a slip of the tongue. I will not engage with him physically but I will deal with him legally," said Kabogo.
Kabogo said that Duale should also apologise to the council of governors as this was a total humiliation of the office they hold.
Duale was speaking during celebrations to mark the third Mara Day at Maasai Mara University, where he accused Governor Kabogo and his peers Isaac Ruto and Jackson Ranguma of ignoring summons by the senate to answer audit queries.
Kabogo added that the senate was just using cheap politics to show that he is bad. He said that he has complied with all the senate’s requirements but the senate committee keeps on jeopardising his efforts.
“I have complied with everything the senate committee has requested. I have even appeared for questioning but whenever I turn up, they claim to be busy and when I sent my representative they say that I should appear in person. I guess my representative will work as well as I can,” Kabogo explained.
