Kiambu County governor William Kabogo has called on Kabete residents to make the right decision in choosing their leader in the coming by-election.
11 candidates have been cleared to vie for the seat by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
Speaking in Thika town on Friday, Governor Kabogo said that the residents have a variety of candidates to choose from and should not to be influenced by leaders who seek political mileage.
“Please make the right decision out of the 11 candidates and do not choose a leader who is just seeking political gain,” said Kabogo.
He said that Kabete should consider backgrounds of the leaders and should not allow those leaders who have questionable integrity to lead the sub-county.
Kabogo said that it is up to Kabete residents to decide whether they will elect leaders who only seek political gain those who are willing to continue the work of the late George Muchai.
Governor Kabogo stated that a good leader comes from God and he will work with any leader they choose, but insisted that the residents should make a right decision.
He urged the area residents not to be influenced by the popularity of the candidates but rather the integrity and vision the leader has to the people of Kabete.
