Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has pledged to ensure every child in the county has access to quality and affordable education.

Speaking when he opened new class rooms at the Ruiru township secondary school on Friday, Kabogo said that his government is keen to boost education standards.

Kabogo said that Kiambu hosts the best performing schools in the country noting that he will strive to ensure the good performance is maintained.   

The county boss said that his government has put in place policies that are meant to improve education performance.

“My government has put in place various policies meant to ensure students have access to quality education,” said Kabogo.

He further indicated that more money has been channeled through the Constituency Development Funds (CDF) to construct and renovate class rooms.

The Governor said that investing in education is key to realisation of development and fight against poverty and unemployment.

Kabogo, who also donated Sh500,000 towards construction of more classes at the school asked the national government to provide more resources towards the education sector.

He said there is need for the government to address issues being raised by teachers to avert possible strikes and go-slows.

The governor pledged to support bright but needy students to get scholarships, saying it is the only way through which they can better their lives.

The county boss urged leaders in the county to work together towards realisation of development.
