Governor William Kabogo has said that majority of political aspirants who lost in the party nominations will make a comeback in the August 8 polls.

Kabogo claims that most incumbents vying as independent candidates lost unfairly in the in the party primaries.

Speaking in Kiambu on Thursday, Kabogo said that majority of those who won in nomination ticket will lose in the August election.

“We are confident that independents will make a great come back on August 8,” he said as quoted by the Standard.

He asked the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to a free and fair playground in the August polls beseeching Kenyans to support independent candidates saying that they have a vision similar to those allied to political parties and coalitions.

Kabogo, who chairs the Kenya Association of Independent Candidates (KAIC), exuded confidence of winning re-election. He maintained that he unfairly lost in the nomination.

His alliance has been criticised by a section of Jubilee politicians who claim that it could create voter apathy in President Uhuru Kenyatta’s strongholds but he refutes the claim saying KAIC is supporting Uhuru’s re-election.
