Kiambu Governor William Kabogo would retain his gubernatorial seat if elections were held today according to Trends and Insights For Africa (TIFA) polls.

According to the polls released on Tuesday, Kabogo leads with 46% followed by Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu who polls at 33%. 24% are undecided.

The pollster said that Waititu only had a chance of beating Kabogo if he could convince a big chunk of the undecided voters to his side. Teaming up with other less popular competitors, the pollster said would also increase Waititu's chances of trouncing Kabogo.

In the Senatorial race Wamatangi leads the pack at 39% followed distantly by Ngewa MCA Karungo Wa Thang'wa at 13%. Former Limuru MP George Nyanja polls third at 9% followed by another former MP Stephen Ndichu who polls at 5%.

The pollster noted that the incumbent was not popular enough among the people and the percentage of undecided voters could turn tables around.

In Kiambu Women Rep race, Gathoni Wa Muchomba a new entrant takes the day at 29% while the incumbent Hannah Nyokabi polls at 24%. Former Kiambu County TNA coordinator Gladys Chania polls at 4% with 37% of the voters still undecided.

The pollster says that there is no clear winner here as either of the top two contestants could convince the undecided to vote either way. Gathoni's popularity was attributed to her decorated media career which spans more than a decade.
