The former county chief said it's a shame that the country is losing billions of shillings through illegal dealings because the leaders in charge are lazy and too lenient to punish those involved in corruption.

"The money involved in graft is moved through banks in this country. Uhuru and Ruto should order the officers in charge of fighting graft to trace the money and let the people involved explain how they got the money into their bank accounts," he said.

Kabogo stated that the rate at which government officers are stealing public money is worrying, adding that the government should stop being too lenient on the offenders.

"EACC should move with speed and conduct thorough investigations especially on reports released by the auditor general so that people stealing public funds can be arrested and prosecuted in a court of law," he noted.

He said the latest NYS scandal is a clear indication of how deep corruption is in the country.

Kabogo argued that corruption scandals will continue to hit the country because graft is what people know to be the easiest way to get things done in this country.

The Kiambu politician was speaking during an interview on Citizen television on Wednesday.
