The leaders made the remarks when they visited the DP at his Sugoi home in Eldoret on Sunday.

They were led by Kiambu Governor William Kabogo who said the community will support Ruto to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta after he has served his second term.

"We will stand with you. Don’t be worried over that. 2022 election will be a walkover," he said.

Kabogo was accompanied by several Members of Parliament, MCAs and other community leaders.

The governor said Ruto stood his ground in 2012 and insisted that they unite when leaders met to negotiate an alliance in the run-up to the 2013 general election.

“DP Ruto worked for our unity and we’ll ensure we remain united until he becomes the President in 2022 poll,” he said.

Kabogo said he will be at the forefront campaigning for Jubilee in 2022.

Kieni MP Kanini Kega who was part of the delegation, said Central Kenya will 'pay back' Ruto's support to President Uhuru by voting massively for him in 2022.

“It’s clear in our minds we will vote for you because of your steadfast support to the President. Be assured you will occupy the top seat in 2022," said Kega.
