Juja MP Francis Waititu has given Kiambu County government a one-week ultimatum to commence construction of the proposed public school and hospital in Witeithie.
The MP says failure to this, he will lead all Juja residents to protest in a manner that has not been experienced before.
Munyua further faulted the county government for neglecting the people in his constituency under unfair grounds.
The legislator said that the county government and its officials are running away from their responsibilities and that he will not sit and watch as the public is oppressed by greedy leaders.
Speaking in Witeithie on Monday when he calmed the irate protesters, the MP said that most of the areas in his constituency are dry and they have been neglected by the county government.
He added that the remote areas of Juja Farm, Nyacaba, Muchatha and Witeithie have not been experiencing any change despite voting for those in the county government.
“If these people didn’t vote for you, no one among you (MCAs) could be in leadership. You can’t just ignore the people as if they are animals. Develop this area as mandated,” he said.
He added, “These people have no school, no hospital, no water and even the roads are in a wanting state while you just sit and utilise their funds to buy vehicles that don’t help in anything.”
Earlier, the residents held a protest calling for construction of the hospital and the school. They had threatened to demolish legislative offices in the area especially the MCA's. They have accused the area MCA of deserting them.
