The two appeared to have fallen off in the run-up to the August 8 elections when the former county boss blamed DP Ruto for manipulating Jubille primaries that saw him lose to his political opponent, Ferdinand Waititu.

But On Monday, the two met and discussed yet to be known issues as buttressed by the former county boss via his official Twitter handle.

."I 'tangatangad' Karen to see my good friend the DP," Kabogo tweeted.

The unprecedented camaraderie between the two has stirred mixed reactions among a section of Eldoret residents who shared their thoughts on the matter.

Macharia Muene said that the renewed friendship between the two might have a hand in the DP Ruto's Presidential bid in 2022.

"Ruto is a very intelligent and shrewd Politician. So I think he is wooing his perceived political opponents ahead of his Presidential ambitions in the coming elections," he said.

Nick Kiprono claimed that Kabogo was rejuvenating his political relevancy by teaming up with the second in command in the country.

"Since he (Kabogo) lost his political relevancy in 2017 by losing to Ferdinand Waititu in the gubernatorial seat, Kabogo is seeking to regain his influential ability by teaming up with the Deputy President," opined Kiprono.

Sheila Cheu commented that the duo's meeting was in line with the spirit of handshake that is reverberating across the country.

"What I can say about the meeting of these two leaders is that they did it for the sake of the handshake between the President and the former Prime minister, Raila Odinga," said Sheila.

Kabogo is on the record telling the Deputy President in 2015 that he should not expect an automatic backing from the Mount Kenya voting bloc for his 2022 President Ambitions, a pronouncement that did not augur well with DP's camp.

"I still insist that we shall only support a leader if they go out there and prove that they can work for the people, that they will initiate development projects for Mt Kenya people," Kabogo said, adding that there was no bad blood between him and Ruto.
