Kabras Sugar displayed their continued dominance over Impala by beating the Resolution Impala Saracens 19-7 to retain the Christie Sevens tournament at RFUEA Grounds on Sunday.

This was a repeat of the fourth leg final, Sepetuka Sevens held in Eldoret a fortnight ago where the millers trounced Impala 26-7 to win their first trophy of the season.

Ugandan winger, Philip Wokorach, Dan Sikuta and Malik Habil scored a try each for Charles Cardovillis’ men to take their points tally to 85 and leap-frog Series champions Homeboyz at the top of the table.

Homeboyz, who were stunned 17-12 by Nakuru in the quarterfinalsdropped to third place with 78 points as Impala moved up to second position (82 points).

The Saracens went ahead through Leo Seje’s converted try before Wokorach made it 7-5 for Kabras to take a slim halftime lead.Sikuta touched down after the break before Habil reacted quickly to a loose ball and sealed the victory with a well converted try.

Kabras had set up a repeat of Sepetuka final with Impala after beating Nakuru 19-12 as the Saracensdefeated  their Ngong Road rivals Kenya Harlequins 17-10 to sail through.

Gramwell Bunyasi’s converted try put Nakuru in front before Dominic Osino converted Philip Wokorach’s try to level the scores. The Ugandan landed his double before Brian Tanga scored under the posts to see Kabras lead 19-7 at half time.

Kenyan international Oscar Ouma would ground a second try for Nakuru but it was not enough to cut the deficit. Richard Sidindi was the hero after scoring a match winning converted try as Impala laboured to beat Quins 17-10.Mark Kwemoi put Impala ahead with an early try before Max Theuri responded to ensure the teams go into the break tied at 5-5.

Kenyan international Eden Agero then grabbed the second try for Quins, but his celebration was cut short by Sammy Oliech who powered his way to the try line before Sidindi’s converted try secured a final ticket for Impala.There is great anticipation for the final leg of the season Dala Sevens  to be held on October 21 to 22.
