Renown lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi says suspect Josephine Kabura was highlighted in the NYS scandal to excite Kenyans.
The lawyer who spoke Wednesday on the JKL show on KTN, said the key players in the NYS saga were powerful leaders who are using Kabura to hide their deeds.
"Let me tell you, Kabura was highlighted deliberately for the middle-class to get excited about the Sh1.6 million while billions are being stolen and nobody knows about it," he said.
Ahmednasir insisted that the way Kabura got her contracts were malicious, and that powerful people were using her to siphon money from the service.
The senior council also insisted that the fight against corruption cannot be won since the involved individuals were the people in power who have made themselves untouchable.
"Those people who are there in leadership because they control the apparatus of the State have ensured that nothing will be done to them," he said.
"The State is captured and the people who have captured it are practicing corruption,"he added.
