This was revealed by the varsity vice chancellor Professor Olive Mugenda during the donation of equipment in the Gatundu South hospital.

Mugenda said that Kenyan students need to be better informed on their careers, and that they should focus on the importance of education in their life time.

“Students and youth sometimes need to be reminded what brought them to school. Having an explosive talk with the CS will have a positive impact on them,” said Mugenda.

She said that many students lose focus the moment they are enrolled in campuses and colleges due to too much freedom being offered in the institutions. She hoped that Kaimenyi could mentor them on importance of education will be a plus for the students.

The professor urged the students and youths to attend the talk at the amphitheatre of main campus, saying that their education life would never be the same again.

She said that many great speakers would be present to sensitize youth on career choices and youth empowerment in regards to self-employment and the eradication of substance abuse.

Mugenda expressed her concerns with school drop outs and urged parents to be more involved in their children’s lives by monitoring them once they are enrolled.

She said that often students did not graduate in the school while parents have already paid the school fees only to be disappointed on the last day of graduation.

The VC termed the act as inhuman to the parents and thus she has advocated for parents to be more involved in every bit of their children life in college and campuses.
