Speaking to Radio Maisha on Wednesday, the ODM governor said the Jubilee government had done too little for the county to warrant any support.

"They should stop deluding themselves that they stand a chance of carrying the day here because they will get nothing. They have done nothing for the county for the five years they have been at the helm," he said.

Nkedianye weathered a strong Jubilee wave in the region to win the gubernatorial seat on an ODM ticket with the majority of the other elective seat going to the defunct Jubilee Alliance.

He is, however, facing a tough battle to retain his seat as he will be squaring it out with former Security CS Joseph Ole Lenku of the Jubilee party.

Political pundits have since categorized the county as a swing vote with both sides of the political divide camping in a bid to capture a greater chunk of the more than 300,000 votes up for grabs.

In 2013 polls ODM's Raila Odinga and Jubilee's Uhuru Kenyatta were neck and neck in the cosmopolitan county with Uhuru scoring 138,851 against Raila's 117,856 votes.
