Kajiado Governor David Nkedienye has refuted claims that the cosmopolitan county is a tossup as claimed by Jubilee strategists.

Jubilee campaign team has earmarked the region as swing and both President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto are expected to traverse the vast region.

But on Tuesday, Nkedienye dismissed the claims and maintained that the county has gone a complete ‘metamorphosis’ since 2013.

“I want to make it clear that Kajiado is not Kiambu. My people are well prepared and they know this is a NASA zone,” he said during a rally at Kitengela.

He added: “We have gone through a complete metamorphosis and I am glad that NASA will take everything. We cannot be hoodwinked anymore.”

In 2013 elections, the region witnessed high spirited campaigns in which President Kenyatta managed to beat Odinga with a narrow margin.

On the contrary in the neighbouring Narok County, Odinga beat Uhuru also with a small margin leading to conclusions that the two regions are swing.
