[Photo|ODM Party]Opposition leaders Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka met grassroots leaders from Kajiado County, and left the following message, Monday."We have had consultation with the leaders of Kajiado and laid strategies for bringing change to our country. These are elected leaders, nominated leaders and those who vied on NASA ticket for various positions and who have remained firm that the change that the Maa community and the people of Kenya need can only come through NASA.The leaders have are here to make a firm position that they are fully in NASA and are part of the struggle to make Kenya an all-inclusive country that respects the rights and dignity of all Kenyans regardless of the size of that community. We have taken the firm position that as some of our leaders decide to move to what they think are greener pastures for themselves, they must be reminded that the Maa community is still facing the same challenges of being marginalized and all the past injustices to this community are unresolved. The injustices over land, marginalization, lack of social amenities like schools, hospitals, water, among others will not be addressed through buying of individual leaders. Our future will only be secured when we move as one team with a clear vision of what we want and how to get it.We will only be friends to friends of our people. Those moving and leaving behind their people will be judged harshly by history and by our people. As leaders of a community under threat of extinction, we should be asking ourselves where we want our community to be 50 years from today and not which position I will get for my wife and children and for my next meal.Let us sacrifice now so that the Maa community that comes after us is not a community whose leaders are on sale and whose every resource is being taken away.We are a community of brave fighters. We must be prepared to die fighting for our rights than to leave looking for handouts."
