President Uhuru Kenyatta on Thursday led Kenyans for National Prayer Breakfast at Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi.
He was joined by his deputy William Ruto, opposition chief Raila Odinga and the president of the Republic of Somalia Mohamed Abdullahi.
During an interview with Citizen TV on the National Prayer Breakfast, Homa Bay senator Moses Kajwang' and former Kakamega senator Bonny Khalwale let out controversial statements concerning the event and the recent scandal victims.
On his part, senator Kajwang' said Kenyans like hiding under prayer to wash their ills. He warned NYS victims not to assume that the National Prayer Breakfast day will sanctify them of the scandal.
"Kenyans like hiding under prayer to wash away their sins. Today let us not say that we have prayed for the NYS people and say that they have been sanctified. We must take action," he said during an interview with Citizen TV on Thursday morning.
Bonny Khalwale on the other side condemned people with ill intentions of hiding the daily plunders they do under the prayer breakfast.
"Some people with ill intentions are hiding there so that the plunder they do on a daily basis becomes a way of life. Do you need that prayer breakfast to pray? Even Jesus Christ prayed in very humble environments," Khalwale said during the interview.
This was the sixteenth edition of the event aimed at uniting Kenyans in prayer. It was co-chaired by Senator Samuel Poghisio of West Pokot and Kiambaa legislator Paul Koinange.NASA leader Raila Odinga and Somali president
