According to Aga Khan Hospital Medical Director Sam Oula, the old man has shown remarkable improvement following his admission in the hospital on Wednesday.

Oula said Ajwang is in a better condition, and his doctor is in close contact with him, indicating that he is fit enough for discharge.

“I have personally spoken to him and he is doing fine, his doctor has indicated that he can be discharged on friday,” said Oula.

Ajwang was admitted at the facility on Wednesday, after collapsing in his rural home in Mbita after receiving the news of his son’s death.

Oula said the old man was having difficulties in breathing when he was brought to the hospital and the doctors have managed to stabilize his condition.

“When he arrived at the hospital, we realized that he had difficulties in breathing and our doctors managed to stabilize his condition, a lot of tests were run and we were able to give him adequate treatment,” added Oula.

Senator Kajwang passed away on Tuesday night at Mater Hospital in Nairobi after suffering a heart attack.

He had served three consecutive terms as the Mbita MP before being elected the first Senator of Homa Bay County in this new constitution dispensation.
