Kakamega Homeboyz is close to agreeing on a deal to sign Thika United right-back Wilson Anekeya.
The defender was initially rumored to join AFC Leopards, but Ingwe opted not to sign the former Nairobi Stima man when they realized that he has a deal in place with Homeboyz.
Homeboyz chairman Cleophas Shimanyula has confirmed that indeed his club is interested in signing the utility man but will only complete the transfer once his contract with Thika expires at the end of the year.
“He's a player we are interested in but we've not signed him yet because he still has a contract with Thika United. His contract expires at the end of the year and after that, we can complete the transfer process,” he told futaa.com.
Anekeya is viewed as a replacement for Athman Buki who was released by the club a week ago. The defender can also slot into the left-back position vacated by Eric Ambunya who has joined Tusker FC.
