Kakamega Homeboyz wrapped up their first ever experience of the Super Cup on Sunday with a fourth-place finish against Tanzanian finest Singida SC at Afraha Stadium.
Homeboyz, who shocked another Tanzanian side, Yanga, in the quarterfinals, had a good finish after coming fourth overall and the club’s new defender Benjamin Oketch says the tournament has been a good bridge for him and the other new players incorporating in the team.
He says they have enjoyed the experience and have been together as a team has really built their understanding ahead of their first match of the premier league – against Ulinzi Stars – in Nakuru.
“It has been a great time, we have a lot that we can say we have gained here. As new players, we have had the opportunity to mingle with others and get to gel well with everyone," he said.
He added: “Staying together for that entire period and given our first league game of the second leg will be here in Nakuru has played a great part in preparing us. I believe this will show in the first game,”
