County governments have been asked to partner with the national government to strengthen Kenya's music and cultural initiatives.
Speaking during the closing ceremony of the 90th Kenya National Music and Cultural Festival (KMCF), the Sports, Culture and Arts Cabinet Secretary Dr Hassan Wario said Kenya was rich in sports and culture.
This, he said was the need for Counties to work closely with the government in moving the sector ahead.
"The Ministry is working on uplifting the nation's culture. We have to unite and focus on avenues that keep our togetherness as brothers and sisters,'' said the CS.
The County government of Uasin Gishu was among the top three Counties to win the competitions after Kakamega and Kwale, which came first and second respectively.
Uasin Gishu with a total of 11 sponsored groups managed to secure a total of seven trophies.
The county choir got 3 medals, Kalya traditional dancers won 3 medals while Segeriet traditional dancers were awarded a medal.
