Sofapaka president Elly Kalekwa has said that he will strengthen the team during the June transfer period.

Sofapaka started the season brightly playing 11 matches winning five, drawn three and lost three.

“We have a strong team but we are also aware of the challenges that come in the second leg and also the fact that this will be a longer season, given the expanded league so we are moving to cushion ourselves.

“There are players who will be leaving the team and we are already lining up their replacements as proposed by the coach. We can’t reveal this as at now but we want to handle everything systematically. Our target remains to challenge for the title and you need a strong team for that,” he said.

The team started the year in a poor financial standing but now have sponsorship from betting firm Betika.
