Former Kibwezi MP Kalembe Ndile has assured Jubilee Party (JP) of full Eastern region votes in 2017.
Ndile who was is part of a team that will lead Jubilee Party vote hunt in Eastern says that the region will support Uhuru in 2017.
Speaking to journalists in Machakos town on Sunday, Ndile said that Jubilee will easily collect votes in Eastern region because contrary to speculations that the region is an opposition stronghold.
“I want to assure Jubilee Party and more so president Uhuru Kenyatta that the Eastern region and especially Ukambani will fully back his re-election bid in 2017,” said Ndile as quoted by the Standard.
Ndile was on Friday last week selected to be part of a team that will campaign for Jubilee Party 2017 campaigns in Eastern region.
The former MP whose TIP party folded and merged to form Jubilee Party will be Uhuru’s point-man in Eastern region majorly Ukambani ahead of the 2017 elections.
The Jubilee campaign team was unveiled on Friday during the party national governing council meeting at the Bomas of Kenya in Nairobi.
Kalembe’s team in Eastern region will be tasked with coordinating Jubilee campaigns in the region that is majorly considered as an opposition stronghold.
Ndile is among several Ukambani politicians who have vowed to work with President Uhuru Kenyatta as he seeks re-election in 2017.
In Nairobi region, the Jubilee campaign team will be led by Women Representative Rachel Shebesh, Senator Mike Sonko and former Starehe MP Margret Wanjiru.
Others in the Nairobi team are Johnson Sakaja and Dennis Waweru.
In central, the Jubilee campaign team comprises of Esther Murugi, Nderitu Gachagua, Alice Ng’ang’a, Sabina Chege, Kembi Gitura, Njogu Barua and David Kiaraho.
In Western, the campaign team comprises of Ken Luska, Ben Washiali, Mary Emase, Justus Kizityo and Charles Gimose.
The Jubilee campaign team in Nyanza comprises of Raphael Tuju, Albert Nyaundi, Charles Nyachae, Joash Maangi and Jimmy Angwenyi.
In Rift Valley, the campaign team comprises Joyce Laboso, John Munyes, Soipian Tuya, Katoo Ole Metito, Suahan Kihika, Janet Nangop and Joyce Emanikor.
In North Eastern, the campaign team comprises Aden Duale, Mohamed Muhamud, Abbas Sheikh and Hassan Yusuf.
The coast team comprises Gideon Mungaro, Salim Mvurya, Zainab Chidzuga, Suleiman Shabal, Danson Mungatana and Naomi Shabaan.
In Eastern, Kiraitu Murungi, Regina Ndambuki, Victor Munyaka, Joe Mutambu and Rachel Nyamai will team up with Kalembe Ndile to drum up support for Uhuru’s re-election bid next year.
The Jubilee Party election campaign secretariat will be headed by Tuju.
According to Jubilee officials, the party will immediately embark on popularization tour.
During the Friday meeting, President Uhuru Kenyatta said his government has actualized the development pledges he made to Kenyans in 2013,
The President hit out at the opposition accusing it of politicking the government development projects with aim of gaining political mileage ahead of 2017 polls.
