Former Kibwezi MP Kalembe Ndile has criticised National Assembly majority leader Aden Duale and his Senate counterpart Kipchumba Murkomen for allegedly scrapping his name off the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) nominees’ list.
Kalembe of the Tip Tip party now warns that he will withdraw his support from the Jubilee side on claims of being disregarded on critical decision making phases.
“As a party we will take necessary measures, we aren’t treated as equals, other parties making Jubilee have been given positions where Ken Lusaka, Eugene Wamalwa from New Ford Kenya have landed on positions”, he lamented.
He explained that he had applied to be considered for the prestigious slot in EALA but later realised that his name was not considered on submission to the house.
“I obeyed the call by the National Assembly clerk Micahel Sialai and senate clerk Jeremiah Nyegenye, the presiding officers for the applications and presented my documents for considerations but Mr. Duale and Mr. Murkomen removed my name from the list in bad faith”, Mr. Kalembe stated.
The ex-legislator conveyed that contrary to the pact that brought almost a dozen parties together under the Jubilee party brand, there were no consultative meetings to agree on the EALA list.
“These two consulted none in their decisions, even the TIP TIP party members weren’t consulted”, he said further insisting that the trend had to stop to have his stay in Jubilee guaranteed.
Jubilee Party nominated 15 people out of a total 111 applicants to the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA).
Former National Assembly Clerk Justin Bundi, former Kamukunji MP Simon Mbugua and former Constitution Implementation Commission Chairperson Charles Nyachae are among the 15 individuals on the list presented by Majority Leaders Aden Duale (National Assembly) and Kipchumba Murkomen (Senate) on Thursday last week at County Hall.
The nominees are Florence Jematiah Sergon, Wanjiku Muhia, Jackson Kipkemoi Kosgei, Irene Cherop Masit, Elizabeth Wangui, Charles Ayako Nyachae, Doris Donya Aburi, Abdulaziz Ali Farah, Adan Mohamed Nooru, Mpuru Aburi, Justin Nthiiri Bundi, Simon Nganga Mbugua, Eunice Wanjiru Karanja, Julie Njeri Waweru and Joe Muriithi Muriuki.
While presenting the list, Duale said that the list had put onto consideration regional and ethnic representation as well as gender balance.
