A section of members of the Kalenjin community in the Coast region have threatened to boycott the repeat presidential polls slated for October 26.Led by Rashid Rotich, they vowed to convince community members not to take part in the polls if Deputy President William Ruto fails to address their problems.Rotich, who unsuccessfully vied for the Shimanzi/Ganjoni ward seat claimed that the Kalenjin community has not benefited from the Jubilee administration, despite Ruto being second in command."We shall not be used as rubber stamps to vote for leaders who in return don't value us when they get into office,” said Rotich.Simon Sang, a member of the community, said Kalenjins living in Mombasa County have been sidelined, adding that they have been trying to get jobs at the Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) in vain."We have been sidelined as a community in terms of employment. We also need to be considered like any other Kenyans,” said Sang.
