Speaking in Nakuru town on Thursday, Nakuru County peace coordinator chairman, Andrew Yatich said it is saddening to see foreigners appointed to lead institutions which can be led by thousands of Kenyans who are qualified and lack jobs.

Yatich accused the Jubilee government of sidelining the Kalenjin community in government appointments citing the recent sacking of former Inspector General of Police David Kimaiyo whom he said is qualified enough to handle the office.

"We are saddened that Kimaiyo was sacked and replaced by the former army chief Julius Karangi. Former KWS boss Wilson Kiprono also from Elgeiyo Markwet County was replaced and is still at home," said Yatich.

Yatich said tension was building in the North Rift region and more so in Elgeiyo marakwet over the haphazard sacking of members of the Kalenjin community.

“If nothing is done about these skewed appointments then some Kalenjins who feel aggrieved will be forced to take a different political route in 2017,” he said.

“Why is it that only one section of the Kalenjin community is is being targeted with the sackings in government?’’ he posed.

“Kalenjins are being shortchanged by this government and it's time we talked and addressed this issue or else we as well lead our people in exodus from Jubilee,” said Yatich.
