A section of leaders from the Kalenjin community  wants Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter summoned by elders utterances athey say compromise Deputy President William Ruto’s position in the government.

Led by the Kalenjin Welfare Society chairman Simeon Kipchoge, the leaders have cited the motion tabled by the MP to ouster Devolution CS Ann Waiguru on corruption claims, as one that will only divide the Kalenjin community.

According to Kipchoge, the leaders have unanimously requested the Kalenjin elders to summon Keter on the matter.

“We would like to remind Keter that he is still young in politics. He should not be the one on the forefront demanding the ouster of Ann Waiguru," he said.

"That motion is deemed to fail, and we urge him to listen to us before it does because it will be an embarrassment to the Nandi community. We have also engaged the Eldoret Catholic Diocese bishop on the matter," he added.

“We support the Jubilee coalition and we will not allow any intention to break it in any way. We respect the deputy president who hails from this region and we would also want other leaders from this region to follow suit regardless of the positions they hold,” Kipchoge said.
