[Photo: Jackson Mandago]Top Rift Valley governors and governorship aspirants met for a political rally in Kericho county, Monday.They first held a closed door meeting, chaired by Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago, to deliberate on who they will support for the August 8 polls.The leaders include Nandi county senator Stephen Sang (who eyes the county's governorship post), Sotik MP Joyce Laboso (eyes Bomet governorship post), governor Mandago, host governor Paul Chepkwony, among others."The journey to ensure that Jubilee Party gets full backing in Rift Valley counties has just began," said Mandago, while he addressed supporters in Sosiot.The meeting dubbed "Sosiot declaration" saw them unanimously agree to back President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto for their second term bid.They also agreed that the Kalenjin community would vote in all the Jubilee Party nominees, fpr various posts.The Jubilee Party politicians also agreed that: "William Samoei Ruto is and will remain the de facto leader of the community and his 2022 presidential bid will be backed by the entire community."
