A section of leaders from Rift Valley region have come into strong defense of Deputy President William Ruto, saying they are satisfied with his leadership.
Ruto has been at loggerheads with Baringo Senator Gideon Moi and his Bomet Counterpart Isaac Ruto who have been accusing him of divisive leadership.
Led by Baringo Governor Benjamin Cheboi, the leaders vowed to popularize Jubilee Party in Baringo and West Pokot counties, regions which have been perceived to be leaning towards independence party KANU.
“As leaders, we fully support the DP because he has been instrumental towards ensuring that our infrastructure has been given priority by Jubilee. The government has done well in our region,” Cheboi said.
“We have seen tremendous progress in Baringo, something which some people could not do for over 50 years. Let us desist from politics of divisions,” added Tiaty MP Asman Kamama.
The DP hosted several leaders from Baringo on Wednesday and reportedly tasked them to thwart resurgence of KANU in the Rift Valley region.
