Nakuru youths have formed a movement to mobilize the young people and stand against political oppression.
The group, called Nakuru Kalenjin Youths Resistance Movement (N.K.Y.R.M) was formed yesterday at Nakuru town.
Ronald Kipsang, the chairman of the movement believes that politicians in the county have been lying on issues of youth funds, tenders, jobs, among others and the movement will push politicians to act.
"We cannot be reduced to voting machines by politicians who have been making empty rhetorics. We have decided to unite as youths and stand against any form of injustices done to us by the politicians. N.K.Y.R.M is a group of youths from Kalenjin community whose core mandate is to address the oppression of youths and push the politicians to act," said Kipsang
They promised to maintain peace within Nakuru County and work together with the leaders to ensure that poverty among the youths is eradicated.
"We want a society where there is justice for all. The sons and daughter of the poor should be treated in equal measure as the sons and daughters of tycoons of this county. We are all equal before the eyes of the God," added the chairman.
