Bomet governor Isaac Rutto has yet again launched a scathing attack on Deputy President William Ruto over his leadership style, moments after he declared war on Jubilee leadership.
The two political heavyweights have been in a bruising battle over what many pundits’ associates with supremacy battle in the vote rich Rift Valley region.
And on Monday, Rutto who has since been elevated to fifth principal of opposition outfit NASA said Kalenjin people will make independent choices in August without coercion.
“Someone should know that Kalenjins are not a sack of potatoes that you can carry anywhere and everywhere you want.
“They will make informed decisions and I am foreseeing a scenario where Jubilee will lose badly in Rift Valley. We will not allow arrogant individuals to lead us,” added Rutto in an indirect reference to DP Ruto, who is arguably the Kalenjin de facto leader.
In his bid to wrestle Jubilee out of Rift Valley, Rutto launched CCM party which has since fielded candidates across the region.
But in a quick response to the governor’s growing revolt, the DP has pitched tent in the region and even endorsed a number of leaders to thwart the CCM influence.
