According to Kalonzo, also National Super Alliance (NASA) co-principal, he is the rightful owner of the 500-acre land.

The Ukambani political kingpin has maintained that he did not grab the land, which allegedly belongs to the National Youth Service (NYS).

Kalonzo said he purchased the land asserting Petrako Company and the government have no authority to question him over the legality of his ownership.

He said the land used to belong to the Machakos Municipality before he purchased it from the said owner.

“The land belonged to the defunct Machakos Municipality and was later allocated to Petrako by Mwai Kibaki on the presidential decree," Kalonzo said.

"The land has never been a property of NYS, Petrako sold it to me,” he added.

NYS Director General Richard Ndubai ordered the Former Vice President to vacate the land within 14 days from the day he was served with a notice.

Kalonzo has accused the government of political witch hunt over his stand during the August 8, 2017 General elections.
