Wiper Party leader and Cord co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka has urged former Lands Cabinet Secretary Charity Ngilu to join and work with Cord ahead of the 2017 general elections.
Musyoka on Sunday during a prayer rally for Senator Johnson Muthama in Machakos said that Ngilu is welcomed to join Cord.
Kalonzo stated the coalition is ready to work with Ngilu to liberate the country.
The Wiper leader said that Cord is forming a formidable force that will clinch next year’s general election.
“I want to request and also appeal to my sister Ngilu to join us as we seek to form a formidable force that will send Jubilee government home come 2017,” he said.
The former Vice President noted that there are no permanent enemies in politics.
He stated that though they have been differing with Ngilu, it was time they worked together for the interests of Kenyans and Kamba people.
Kalonzo said that the journey to State House in 2017 has begun and will be won easily if Ngilu joins the opposition. Musyoka said that Jubilee government used and dumped Ngilu without recognizing the work she had done for the government.
Bungoma senator Moses Wetangula also asked Ngilu to join Cord. Wetangula said that the coalition is reaching out for leaders who share the same vision.
He said that next year’s general election will be won by Cord. “It is just a matter of time by August next year President Uhuru Kenyatta will be now former president,” he said.
Wetangula stated that Kenyans were tired with Jubilee government. The Bungoma senator called on Kamba leaders and locals to support the vision held by Cord.
