Wiper Party Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka has launched a scathing attack against leaders who defected from the opposition, terming them “corrupt rejects."
Kalonzo said that all the leaders President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto received from the National Super Alliance (NASA) during their rally at the Tononoka Grounds in Mombasa are corrupt, adding that they will add no value as they seek to retain power in the forthcoming general elections.
The former vice president cited Tana River Governor Hussein Dado, woman representative Halima Ware and Taita Taveta Senator Dan Mwazo saying that the leaders will not bring much into the Jubilee leadership since they have done nothing for the last four years.
Speaking during a rally in Malindi, Kalonzo termed the recent defection from the opposition inconsequential, adding that they will not bar the alliance from rising to power when the time comes.
"Dado is finished and will be replaced by a Wiper candidate in August. We have given them (Jubilee) Dado officially. Tana River will choose a Wiper governor,’’ he said, as quoted by the Star.
UhuRuto also attempted to lure Lamu Governor Issa Timammy to join their side but he declined their calls.
The Ukambani political remarks come at a time when both the opposition and Jubilee are fighting over the Coastal region.
