Wiper Party Patron Kalonzo Musyoka has asked anti-graft bodies to conduct lifestyle audit on all the 47 governors in the country.

Speaking in Naivasha during fourth devolution conference at the Kenya Wildlife Service Institute on Wednesday, Kalonzo said the fight against runaway corruption will not bear fruits if the state applies double standards.

The former Vice president said that corruption cases at the county level have become rampant, adding that it is important to investigate governors as the nation seeks to stamp out this vice.

"Massive corruption has crept up in devolved units where funds are either out-rightly embezzled, or costs for goods and services are inflated to astronomical amounts by corrupt officials in collusion with rogue contractors," Mr Musyoka, as quoted by Nation.

The Cord co-principal also said that the closeness of the Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission (EACC) to ruling government has hampered the effort to end graft at various levels in the nation.

He further said EACC is only pursuing leaders who have lost President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto’s favor.

"While EACC would be the best arbiter, quite a number of Kenyans believe that the commission is too close to the ruling Jubilee for comfort, hence can be used to settle scores on those who have fallen out with the ruling regime," he added.
