Wiper Democratic Movement leader Kalonzo Musyoka has led other leaders to commemorate leaders who passed on before in Kitui county.
The leaders who gathered at Mwingi North also used the function to discuss the Mui basin coal mine which is located in the county.
The Wiper leader has maintained that the Cord Coalition will not loosen its stand on their push to reconstitute IEBC before the 2017 General elections.
“Uhuru has said that he has powers to fire the IEBC commissioners, its true and we know that but if he has a good will he should join Cord and push for the scrapping of the commission,” Kalonzo said.
Kalonzo has also condemned the move by Kenyan police to use force over demonstrating citizens adding that they have been pushing for dialogue in vain.
“We have no intention to see our people sit on the road, beaten with rods and sprayed with tear gas, you spray Kalonzo with teargas who has been the Kenyan Vice president. We are even told by UN that the some of the teargas used is poisonous”, he added.
Cord leaders and their supporters have been demonstrating every Monday to IEBC offices at Anniversary Towers in Nairobi to push for the reconstitution of the commission.
