Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has condemned an act in which two journalists were allegedly attacked by GSU officers in Galana, Tana River County.
Speaking in Manyatta, Machakos County on Sunday during service at Manyatta A.I.C, Kalonzo said that freedom of the media is basic, and so the police should never use force on journalists.
He further asked Kenyans to respects journalists, as they do a very key job to inform them on what is happening in and around their country.
This comes as the Editor Giuld is calling on stern action be taken on the said GSU officers, who were involved in the said act in Tana River
The two journalists working for NTV and Citizen TV say that they were attacked by the police, even after they introduced themselves.
One of the journalists sustained serious leg injuries, and the doctor attending to them advised for an operation be done on him.
Also injured in the incident were Tana River governor Hussein Dado’s political advisor, a communication official and a driver who suffered multiple head injuries.
