Nasa Co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka on Tuesday morning stated that the coalition leaders were gathering to have a word on the government’s plans to disrupt its planned swearing-in at Uhuru Park.
He said that a briefing would be issued after the meeting while speaking to journalists at his Karen home.
Mr Musyoka went ahead to state that the shutdown of some media stations was an action against the media freedom and a deliberate attempt by the government to stop Nasa’s plans.
"This is a very important struggle so we are still consulting. The media is under serious attack and we must tell our people what is happening," Mr Musyoka said.
The former Vice President was with Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua and Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana when giving the statement and said that the top Nasa leaders would meet to prepare for the event.
"We have to look at the oath itself and release the details. We will let the country know the next move," he told the press at his home in Karen.
Mr Musyoka could not give any comment when asked whether their swearing-in would proceed.
"I don’t want to say about that right now. This tactical withdrawal by the police, we don’t know. But our supporters must remain calm," he said
