Nominated MP Johnson Sakaja has said that Wiper Party Patron and former vice president Stephen Kalonzo is likely to reconsider joining President Uhuru Kenyatta's side if the opposition does not allow him to become the presidential flag bearer.
In an exclusive interview with Radio Maisha on Thursday, Sakaja said that Kalonzo has shelved his Presidential dream for long and he cannot afford to do the same in the next general polls.
The MP also said that the Ukambani political kingpin will have nowhere to rush if other opposition leaders betray him.
"Kalonzo is not ready to lose again this time… He will not bear the burden of losing the presidential nomination in the National Super Alliance (NASA) as was in Cord before 2013 elections," Sakaja stated, as quoted by Kenyans.co.ke.
He added: ”This is the reason why Kalonzo will join Jubilee."
Kalonzo has stated clearly that this time round he is not ready to allow for diplomatic talks as the next general elections draw closer.
The outspoken leader has assured his supporters and other opposition leaders to deliver the seat. If endorsed for Presidency, Kalonzo will be banking on the support of Cord leader Rails Odinga, ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula to rise to power.
