Peter Ochomba says Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka could go after all alone in August polls adding that his continued stay in National Super Alliance could wreck the opposition.

Musyoka, a one-time Vice President, has in the recent past maintained that he would go nothing short of presidency.

Last year, Musyoka’s party claimed that their partner ODM, should honour a memorandum that was allegedly signed in 2013 in which Raila Odinga reportedly pledged to support Musyoka.

But poaching within the opposition and openly declining nominations within NASA could be an indication that the experienced politician may not go jointly to elections.

“Honestly I think Kalonzo is unsettled within NASA probably because he is used being in government. He may as well decide to be on ballot, a move that will literally render opposition useless,” he told the reporter.

Ochomba, who lectures at Maasai Mara added: “It is quite sad that he can allow defections from within NASA to his party. I have also heard that they will not embrace joint nominations.”

Former Deputy Speaker Farah Maalim and immediate former Kenyan ambassador to Tanzania Chirau Makwere are high profile politicians to defect from ODM to Wiper.

On Friday, Wiper maintained that it will field candidates in all positions at grabs, ruling out a possibility of joint nominations.
