The race for the Kisauni MP seat has taken a new twist following the defection of Kenga Yaa to Rashid Bedzimba's camp.
Kenga, who until his defection was Ali Mbogo's campaigner, said he decided to “join the winning team because he was impressed with the incumbent's development record”.Bedzimba is defending his seat on an ODM ticket, while Mbogo, who is Bedzimba's main challenger, is vying on a Wiper Party ticket. While confirming the development, Bedzimba's chief campaigner Allan Owano dismissed claims that they are using underhand tactics to weaken their opponent."We really don't want to poach anybody. Our team is already full and well prepared. We have no reason to poach but our doors are open to anybody who wants to come and join us," said Owano as quoted by The Star. The latest development comes as a blow to Kalonzo Musyoka whose party is keen to wrestle the control of the port county from ODM.Jomvu MP Badi Twalib who was elected on a Wiper ticket during the 2013 elections has since decamped to ODM leaving Kalonzo in an awkward political situation in the county.
