Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has defended National Super Alliance (NASA) over power-sharing deal after President Uhuru Kenyatta criticized the opposition for fighting to rise to power for their selfish gains.
Speaking after National Assembly Minority Leader Francis Nyenze claimed that Kamba’s have been given a raw deal in NASA, Kalonzo said that co-principals are not looking for employment opportunities ahead of the August polls.
“It is not that we are looking for jobs,” Kalonzo said as quoted by Capital FM.
The vice President also said that he had to sacrifice his candidature for the sake of this nation after a section of leaders from Ukambani claimed that they have nothing to smile about following the NASA deal.
“Sometimes it’s very painful to take the decisions but once important decisions like the one that was taken are made, then it behooves all of us to move in that direction. I don’t want an impression created that Wiper Democratic Movement is divided in its resolve to support my own candidature as a running mate to Honourable Raila Odinga,” he added.
The former vice president has affirmed that he will pitch tents in different parts of the nation until President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto leave office come August 8.
