The National Super Alliance (NASA) co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka has said that the recent opinion polls that ranked Raila Odinga as the opposition’s most preferred presidential candidate were cooked.
The Wiper party leader accused some NASA and Jubilee Party leaders of sponsoring the pollster in a bid to influence voters ahead of August 8.
“Kenyans are now tired after being lied to for a long time. You do not even know Gongoni or where I am currently speaking from,” he said during a rally in Kilifi on Saturday.
“Those paying them to manipulate figures are Jubilee members and some members of the Nasa coalition,” he added.
On Saturday, research firm Infotrak said ODM leader Raila enjoys huge support among NASA supporters with 68.3 per cent, Kalonzo second with 13.1 per cent, while ANC’s Musalia Mudavadi is third with 12.3 percent.
Ford-Kenya leader Moses Wetang’ula stands at 2.2 per cent.
Kalonzo said the figures by Infotrak did not match his status since he has served as vice president.
NASA is expected to name its presidential candidate by the end of March.
