For the second time in Gusii stadium, NASA presidential running mate Kalonzo Musyoka literally brought the stadium to a standstill on Tuesday when he made entry.
Presidential candidate Raila Odinga and area governor had made entry slightly an hour before and Odinga had been invited to address a mammoth crowd.
But an enthusiastic crowd literally cut Odinga’s speech off when Musyoka and Musalia Mudavadi made entry, leading to temporary hesitation that lasted for 20 minutes.
The NASA leaders were campaigning in the county barely a day after President Uhuru Kenyatta visited, raising questions whether Kisii region is a swing.
Jubilee strategists had in April earmarked Kisii and Nyamira Counties swing despite the regions voting overwhelmingly for Odinga in 2013.
On Tuesday, both political parties will be scrambling for over 850, 000 votes but with Odinga projected as a possible winner by a number of pollsters.
While Jubilee is banking on Senator Chris Obure to deliver votes, NASA is working closely with Kisii Governor James Ongwae and Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire.
