Wiper Party Patron Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka is pushing hard to be named National Super Alliance (NASA) flag bearer or at least Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi’s running mate in the forthcoming general polls, Star reports.

This comes after the alliance revealed that it is going to name the candidate who will smoke out President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto from power on Thursday.

The revelation has made supporters and aspirants of NASA more anxious as the election date draws closer.

A source close to the former vice President claims that Kalonzo has insisted that he is still the best candidate to dethrone the current government from power if fronted by the opposition.

“The Wiper leader has made it clear it is important NASA wins with a big margin and the only person who can guarantee that is Kalonzo," a Kalonzo aide told the local daily.

The source also reveals that Kalonzo wants Mudavadi to be named flag bearer in the forthcoming general polls, adding that he is happy working with him than anyone else.

"However, if Kalonzo is not the candidate, then he will be happy to serve as Mudavadi’s deputy because that ticket will still be strong,” he said.
