Machakos governor Alfred Mutua has revealed the reason why he snubbed a Kamaba unity meting held in Machakos.
The meeting was convened by Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka attended by a number of Ukamabni leaders.
Speaking on Monday, Mutua said the meeting was turned into a Wiper Party affair against the intended purpose of discussing the economic, social and political development of the community.
“The meeting has been full of insults, chest thumping and ultimatums that really do not lead to real unity of purpose. There was no development or economic empowerment agenda discussed. The meeting was all about the political interests of an individual and not the plight of over 4 million Kamba people," Mutua said.
The meeting was attended by leaders from Machakos, Kitui and Makueni.
The leaders endorsed Kalonzo's 2022 presidential bid stating that he was ripe to lead the country.
Kitui governor Charity Ngilu, her Makueni counterpart Kivutha Kibwana and former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama are among leaders who attended the meeting.
