Wiper Democratic Movement - Kenya leader Kalonzo Musyoka, has dismissed claims that he wants to be a senator.
President Uhuru Kenyatta said the Nasa presidential running mate's party had submitted his name, to the list of persons who want to be nominated as senators in the next government.
According to Uhuru, Kalonzo, a former vice president, knew his Nasa team would lose in the August 8 polls, hence his decision to submit name, as the senator, just to shield himself from political cold.
Uhuru made the allegations in Kamukuywa, Bungoma county, Saturday as he addressed hundreds of supporters.
However, in a quick rejoinder, Kalonzo who is firmly in Nasa, termed the allegations as baseless, and that Nasa was heading for a win.
Kalonzo had plans to be Kenya's fifth president, but shelved his ambitions, to support ODM party leader, Raila Odinga, after they formed an alliance, Nasa.
The political alliance comprises of three other principals, Musalia Mudavadi (ANC party), Bungoma senator Moses Wetangula (Ford Kenya) and Bomet governor Isaac Ruto (CCM party).
