Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has hailed Kitui West constituency electorates for electing Edith Vethi Nyenze as their Member of Parliament in the Monday by-election.
On Tuesday, Kalonzo said Vethi’s election is a clear indication that Wiper is still dominant across Ukambani and the country at large.
The former Vice President assured the constituents that they will not regret voting in the Wiper candidate.
“Vethi is a great leader and a performer who we believe in her ability to deliver on the development promises she made, to Kitui West people," Kalonzo said.
Kalonzo asked losers in the Kitui West by-election to work with Vethi Nyenze in pushing for development.
He said that politics is a competition where they has to be a winner and a loser.
The Wiper leader revealed that the party will embark on regional and countrywide exercise to market itself ahead of 2022.
Kalonzo’s Wiper party was keen on recapturing the seat that was left vacant following the death of Francis Nyenze on December 6, 2017 after a long battle with colon cancer.
Political analyst Peter Ngure says that Vethi Nyenze’s win is a big boost for Kalonzo who is fighting for political lifeline.
Ngure notes that the win will give Kalonzo bargaining power as he strategizes ahead of the 2022 general election.
