Kibra Member of Parliament Ken Okoth has come out guns blazing at Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka for threatening to ditch NASA.
The MP says that the funding, relevance and other trickle down effects Wiper enjoyed for being part of the dominantly ODM managed CORD should convince Musyoka and other Ukambani leaders not give Raila ultimatums. He called the approach as a reckless means full of unnecessary deadlines.
“RAO partnership of ODM as the anchor party in CORD gave Kalonzo relevance and funding of Wiper from 2013 to 2017. Kalonzo has no right to blackmail RAO with reckless threats and deadlines,” Okoth said.
Okoth who will battle it out with Raila’s daughter in the nominations revisited history and outline how Raila has been backing Kalonzo. The Kibera incumbent accused Kalonzo of not supporting the fight for multi-party democracy.
“In 1992, RAO and others brought back multi-party system; Kalonzo was comfortable in KANU. In 2002 Moi ditched Kalonzo. RAO brought Kalonzo into the winning team of NARC. Kalonzo stole our party certificate the 2005 referendum, the original ODM. Kalonzo 'passed in the middle' to become Kibaki's vice president 2008,” read part of Okoth’s post as quoted by Daily Post.
